About Amanda and Vida Mia Cloth
A proud wife, mama of six, and indigenous Mexica, Amanda has cloth diapered three of her babies. She was introduced to cloth diapering by her elders, for which cloth was a necessity as disposable diapers were a luxury unavailable to the community.
"When I thought of cloth, I immediately thought of the typical cloth and pins. As I did my research and found out about modern cloth diapers, I was sold."
Amanda trialed cloth diapers with her second baby but it wasn't until her son was born with a condition called Hirschsprung’s disease that she committed to cloth diapering. Her son's condition required that he have a colostomy bag which meant that his cloth diapers would be minimally soiled. This and the thought of how wasteful disposable diapers would be gave Amanda the momentum she needed to begin!
She soon opened 'Vida Mia Cloth' in July of 2020, celebrating three years in business this year.
"This business has ups and downs, but more ups. The joy I get from seeing my brand spread from corner to corner of the world leaves me with no words. Cloth diapering has come a long way and I hope to continue to help make cloth mainstream by reaching out to my own community, helping to spread the word on the benefits of cloth diapering and sustainable living. I truly can’t wait to see where Vida Mia will be in another 3 years."
